The New Zealand Open Charitable Trust is proud to support an initiative that creates a pathway for junior golfers from the host region to play alongside a professional at the New Zealand Open. This Journey to the Open aims to strengthen connections between local golf clubs, their members, and the tournament, while encouraging junior participation and membership across the Central Otago region.
The three qualifying events at Arrowtown Golf Club, Cromwell Golf Club and Wanaka Golf Club are now completed. A huge thank you to all those who took part, those who supported and followed the players on the day and the clubs/organisers that made each event special.
We were certainly pleased by the positive feedback on the Journey to the Open event, and the NZOCT can confirm its commitment to continuing the event in the future.
We are now delighted to confirm the nine finalists who will compete for the amateur spot in the New Zealand Open on Sunday, 25th February on the Remarkables Course at Millbrook Resort, with the nearest the pin playoff hole being the Par 3 18th. It will be an exciting spectacle to crown our first Journey to the Open winner.
