Kiwi Art Trail at the New Zealand Open

The Kiwi Art Trail is coming to the New Zealand Open thanks to Gallagher Insurance.
The Kiwi Art Trail brought to you by Gallagher and Save the Kiwi returns this summer as a vibrant celebration of New Zealand’s art, culture and conservation.

Thanks to the support of Gallagher Insurance, Millbrook Resort will host the Kiwi Art Trail during the tournament, with spectators encouraged to explore the full collection of 17 uniquely decorated kiwi artworks dotted throughout the tournament precinct.

Meet the Artists

Each kiwi sculpture has been designed and painted by exceptional artists from across New Zealand. Including works from Otis Frizzell, FLOX, Haser, Sandi Young, Jing Liu and more.

The artists bold, imaginative designs transform each kiwi sculpture into a uniquely local story, from cultural symbolism to contemporary street-art influence.

Art that protects New Zealand’s National Bird

The Kiwi Art Trail is more than an art experience; it’s a movement for conservation. Since the inaugural exhibition in 2023, the trail has generated more than $200,000 for kiwi conservation, with auction proceeds supporting Save the Kiwi. And it’s no different this year, all sculptures are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Save the Kiwi as well as the launch of the New Zealand Open Charitable Trust, where one extra special kiwi painted by Sandi Young, a talented Trustee of the New
Zealand Open Charitable Trust will be auctioned, with 100% of proceeds supporting the NZOCT and its charitable initiatives.

Experience the Trail

As you move around the course, take time to explore this self-guided public art exhibition. The trail winds its way from Tee Junction through to O’Malley’s Corner, offering a colourful and creative journey alongside the tournament action.
