Yuki Miya is a rising 20-year-old New Zealand amateur who has rapidly emerged as one of the country’s most exciting young golf prospects. Playing out of Christchurch and representing the Golf New Zealand Academy, he has built a strong resume on the domestic amateur circuit and the professional Charles Tour, highlighted by a victory at the 2025 Club Car Pegasus Classic.
Miya completely thrust himself into the international spotlight in late February 2026 during the 105th New Zealand Open at Millbrook Resort. Competing as an amateur against a world-class field of seasoned professionals on the Asian Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia, he remarkably seized a share of the clubhouse lead heading into the weekend. He fired a sizzling opening-round 63 on the Remarkables course, followed by a second-round 68, to sit at 11-under par alongside DP World Tour star Daniel Hillier. This extraordinary breakout performance at his national open firmly establishes him as a premier talent to watch for a future transition to the professional ranks.
