Tyler Wood is a New Zealand pro from Ngāhinapōuri (near Hamilton) who is quickly establishing himself as one of the country’s most promising young talents. A former standout amateur who attended Hamilton Boys’ High School, Wood turned professional in March 2023 at the New Zealand Open.
In the 2025/26 season, Wood has been a consistent performer on the PGA Tour of Australasia. His best result of the season came at the NT PGA Championship in August 2025, where he finished tied for 8th. He also recorded a strong tied-11th finish at the Victorian PGA Championship in December 2025 and a top-30 finish at the Webex Players Series Victoria in January 2026. Between tour seasons, he demonstrated his class by winning the 2025 New Zealand Stroke Play Championship in April, shooting a dominant 22-under par to claim the prestigious domestic title. He currently sits inside the top 60 on the Order of Merit as he chases his maiden major tour victory.
