Takahiro Hataji is a Japanese professional who competes on the Japan Golf Tour (JGTO) and the Asian Tour. After turning professional in 2015, Hataji enjoyed a career-defining breakout season in 2024, during which he claimed three victories.
He secured his maiden professional title at the 103rd New Zealand Open in March 2024. Closing with a final-round 67, he became the first Asian player to win the historic event, surpassing previous runner-up finishes by countrymen like Hideto Tanihara [2]. Hataji continued his dominance on home soil, winning the Kansai Open Golf Championship in May by three strokes and adding a third title in September at the Vantelin Tokai Classic, where he defeated Takumi Kanaya by a single shot.
In the 2025 season, Hataji remained a steady presence on the JGTO, recording a season-best T7 finish at the ISPS HANDA Summer Golf Battle and making a notable hole-in-one at the Sansan KBC Augusta, which earned him a special prize of 330,000 yen.
