He completed a trainee ship at the Port Macquarie Golf Club where he was a standout in many trainee events at the time.
He became a playing professional in 1999 and since then has played the PGA Tour of Australasia and the One Asia and Asian Tours racking up multiple top placings ahead of his big breakthrough in 2014 when winning the Fiji International.
He had recorded victories in pro-am and other such events before his win at Natadola Bay secured a cheque for A$192,000 and provided the cushion to push on with his playing career. Jeffress has become one of the stars of the pro-am circuit in Queensland during the Australian winter and while his form has tapered off a little in 2019 he is still more then capable of producing a big finish in some of the bigger events in Australasia.
