Sam Brazel is an Australian pro who has been a mainstay on the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia for over a decade. A self-described late bloomer who didn’t reach a single-digit handicap until he was 16, he turned professional in 2002 and spent years grinding on regional circuits before achieving his global breakthrough.
His defining career moment arrived in spectacular fashion at the 2016 UBS Hong Kong Open. Ranked 480th in the world at the time, Brazel birdied the final hole to secure a dramatic one-stroke victory over a world-class field. The massive win, co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours, earned him a two-year exemption on the DP World Tour and remains his crowning achievement. Now in his mid-40s, the Lismore native continues to actively compete as a seasoned veteran on the Australasian circuit, recording consistent finishes across domestic Pro-Ams and tier-one events like the Webex Players Series.
