His best finish in a Tier One event on the PGA Tour of Australasia came in 2012 when he finished runner-up to Jake Higginbottom at the Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch but also in that same year he would win his only PGA Tour of Australasia event when successful in the WAPGA Championship at the Kalgoorlie Golf Course.
Wilson played the secondary tour in Japan in 2014, winning twice and playing his way onto the Japan Tour the following year but he was struck down by a complaint which still bothers him on occasions Diverticulitis, a complaint of the gastrointestinal disease.
He was unable to retain his status in Japan but he gets another chance late in 2019 when he tees it up at the Final Stage of their tour school. Wilson has been one of the most prolific winners of pro-am events throughout Australia.
