Following three years at the highly acclaimed Hills International College in Jimboomba near Beaudesert he earned a scholarship to Augusta State and played a key role in that college’s improved performances while he was there.
During his time at Augusta State, Maverick won the prestigious Rice Planters Amateur event.
Maverick turned professional late in 2016 and missed earning status on the Australasian Tour at the Tour School that year but managed to play his way into events the following season via qualifying.
He earned the right to play the China Tour in 2017 and was Rookie of the Year there that year. His big breakthrough however came in 2019 when winning three times on the China Tour finishing top of that Order of Merit and earning the right to play the European Tour in 2020.
He has also enjoyed status on the Asian Tour. He has recorded several top tens on the Australasian Tour the best of those coming when 5th at both the NT and QLD PGA Championships.
