Jeffrey (Jeff) Guan is an Australian professional golfer who is currently the protagonist of one of the most inspiring comeback stories in world sport. A two-time Australian Junior champion and a former top-ranked amateur, Guan made his PGA Tour debut at the Procore Championship in California in September 2024. Just one week later, tragedy struck when he was hit in the left eye by an errant golf ball during a pro-am in New South Wales, an accident that resulted in the permanent loss of vision in that eye.
Defying medical expectations and the immense difficulty of playing with monocular vision (which affects depth perception), Guan returned to professional golf in August 2025 at the NT PGA Championship. He didn’t just return to participate; he returned to compete. In October 2025, just two months into his comeback, he shot a stunning final-round 66 to finish tied for 10th at the CKB WA PGA Championship, proving he can still contend at the elite level. He continues to compete on the PGA Tour of Australasia, aiming to rebuild the career that many thought was over.
