James Marchesani is an Australian pro from Rosebud, Victoria, known for his elite consistency and sporting pedigree (he is the son of former AFL footballer Frank Marchesani). A former collegiate star at Oklahoma City University, where he was a Jack Nicklaus Award winner, Marchesani has been a fixture on the PGA Tour of Australasia for over a decade.
His 2025/26 season has been defined by near-misses and high-level performance. His standout moment came in November 2025 at the Ford NSW Open, where he was involved in a dramatic four-hole playoff against Christopher Wood and Will Florimo. After Florimo was eliminated, Marchesani eventually fell to Wood on the fourth extra hole, finishing as runner-up in one of the season’s most memorable duels. He backed this up with a T4 finish at the Queensland PGA Championship and a T14 at the Australian PGA Championship, results that have propelled him to 4th on the Order of Merit and within touching distance of a DP World Tour card.
