Back injuries curtailed the momentum he was building but in 2017 he regained his Australasian Tour status and recorded several good finishes including top five finishes at the NZ PGA Championship and the Queensland Open. In 2018 he was twice inside the top four finishers at the Victorian PGA and the Rebel Sports Masters in Auckland.
He has played the Japan Challenge Tour, a feeder to the Japan Tour, in each of the last two seasons.
After leading the 2019 New Zealand Open early in the week he recorded his best Tier One finish on the PGA Tour of Australasia when finishing 8th.
