He was introduced to the game by his father at the age of 6 and by the age of 16 was on a scratch handicap. He has played the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Asian Tour during his professional career, winning events in Asia (2009 Brunei Open) and in Australia (2019 W.A. PGA Championship).
Beck also won the Queensland PGA Championship on two occasions although at that stage the event was not on the PGA Tour of Australasia schedule. His biggest cheque in the game came when runner-up at the 2008 Indian Open where he secured earnings over US$100,000.
