Nisbet won his first Asian Tour title in sensational style at the 2018 New Zealand Open overcoming a four-shot deficit in the final round to win with a tournament record of 27-under-par 258.

Daniel Nisbet compiled a good amateur career, winning the Australian Boys Championship and the Players Am in the US, that effort securing a start in a PGA Tour event in the process. 2018, however, would be the breakthrough year for the man from Caboolture on the Sunshine Coast, winning the New Zealand Open in March and later in the year winning his second PGA Tour Australasia title when successful at the NTPGA Championship. In February of 2019 he made it three PGA Tour Australasia titles when winning the Queensland PGA Championship.
