Cory Crawford is an Australian pro who has enjoyed a remarkable career resurgence in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons following significant struggles with a back injury. Born in Tasmania, Crawford first tasted success by winning the 2017 PNG Open, but his career was stalled by injuries that forced him to restart his journey multiple times.
He completed his “redemption story” in December 2024 by winning the Victorian PGA Championship at Moonah Links. In a dramatic finish, he holed a clutch birdie putt on the 72nd hole to win by one stroke, marking his first tour victory in over seven years. He continued his winning form into the 2025/26 season, capturing his second PNG Open title in August 2025, surging to victory with a dominant final round. Crawford has remained a constant threat on the leaderboard throughout late 2025, recording a 5th place finish at the NSW Open and a T8 at the Queensland PGA Championship, results that have placed him firmly inside the top 5 of the Order of Merit.
