Christopher Wood has become one of the premier players on the PGA Tour of Australasia. He first broke through with a victory at the 2021 Victorian PGA Championship, but his career reached a new peak in November 2025 at the Ford NSW Open.
In a career-defining performance, Wood won the NSW Open at The Vintage Golf Club in a marathon four-hole playoff against James Marchesani and Will Florimo. The victory was particularly emotional as Wood had openly considered retiring from professional golf to work in the mines at the end of the 2025 season. Instead, the win vaulted him to the top of the Order of Merit and secured his playing future. He is currently the Order of Merit leader for the 2025/26 season, a position that puts him in line for a DP World Tour card.
