Chris Malec is an American pro from Webster, New York, who is currently competing on the PGA Tour of Australasia. A graduate of the University of Louisville (2014) and a former hockey player, Malec spent over a decade grinding on mini-tours in the United States before seizing a unique opportunity to play overseas.
In July 2025, he made history by winning the PGA Tour of Australasia’s first-ever Qualifying School held in the United States. At the event in Kinderlou Forest, Georgia, he shot a final-round 68 to finish as medalist, earning his full tour card for the 2025/26 season. Since arriving in Australia, he has made a solid start to his rookie season, recording a T21 finish at the Victorian PGA Championship in December 2025 and a T26 at the Ford NSW Open. These results have established him as a consistent presence on the tour as he looks to climb the Order of Merit.
