Rankin has played the Queensland Sunshine Tour and Australasian Tour, his best finish coming when winning the Northern Territory PGA Championship in 2019. Rankin has, however, experienced tremendous success on the Sunshine Tour in Queensland winning numerous pro-ams, winning the Order of Merit for that tour in 2018 and leading again late in 2019.
His best finish in a Tier One event on the PGA Tour of Australasia came when 12th at the 2016 Fiji International.
