Ben Henkel is an Australian professional golfer from Victoria who has produced one of the most inspiring comeback stories in recent years. In 2019, Henkel suffered a fractured C1 vertebra in a severe car crash that nearly ended his career and threatened his mobility. After a grueling recovery and rediscovering his love for the game, he turned professional and achieved his maiden tour victory at the 2024 Gippsland Super 6 in December. In a wire-to-wire performance, he defeated Dylan Gardner in the final match play duel to secure the title.
Henkel continued his strong form into the 2025/26 season, establishing himself as a regular contender on the PGA Tour of Australasia. He finished T2 at the PNG Open in August 2025 and produced a standout performance at the NSW Open in November, where he finished 4th after leading the tournament midway through the final round. Known for his new “zen-like” on-course demeanor, he is currently chasing a spot on the Asian Tour after advancing through the early stages of Qualifying School.
