Born in Auckland, Elliott made his debut for the Black Caps in 2008 and quickly became known for his powerful batting and useful medium-fast bowling.
He gained international fame during the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, where his match-winning six in the semifinal against South Africa helped New Zealand reach their first-ever World Cup final.
Elliott retired from international cricket in 2016, having contributed significantly to New Zealand’s success on the global stage. Post-retirement, he has been involved in coaching and mentoring in New Zealand cricket.
- Where is your home golf club? Royal Wellington
- What’s your current handicap? 13.1
- What’s the best your handicap has been? Currently. I didn’t have one for ages when playing cricket as I wasn’t affiliated to a club. No cricketer was allowed to be above a 16.
- Golfing highlight: Eagle on a par 4 number 12 at Miramar is the best I have had.
- Your favourite course in New Zealand? It would have to be Royal Wellington or cape kidnappers.
- What it will be like to play alongside a professional It will be great to have someone to help me with my game and maybe bring some sense to it! I mean a caddie and a pro alongside you. It’s your own team helping you make some sound decisions with qualified advice.
