DP World Tour
South African Yurav Premlall produced a dominant display to win the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship, with a 14-shot victory and setting new victory-margin record on the DP World Tour outside of major championships.
Kazuma Kobori continued his impressive development on the DP World Tour with a strong sixth placing this week at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in Barcelona. The young Kiwi showcased composure and consistency throughout the tournament, finishing with rounds of 68 and 69 to continue establishing himself among New Zealand’s emerging global golf stars.
Kobori’s latest result also strengthened his Race to Dubai standing, where he now sits 63. Fellow kiwi, Daniel Hillier dropped two places in the rankings and now sits 14th, having not played this week.
LIV Golf
Lucas Herbert delivered a huge statement performance, claiming his maiden LIV Golf title with a dominant wire-to-wire victory at LIV Golf Virginia. Herbert finished four shots clear of the field after opening with rounds of 64 and 63 before holding his nerve on Sunday.
The win also secured him a place in the upcoming U.S. Open and continued the strong run of form shown since his runner-up finish at the 2026 New Zealand Open where Herbert earned a start at The Open being the highest placed non-exempt player as part of The Open Qualifying Series.
Asian Tour
Ian Snyman secured a breakthrough victory on the Asian Tour this week, with an impressive win at the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open. Runner up at the 2025 New Zealand Open, the South African produced a composed and consistent performance to claim his maiden Asian Tour title
The popular, soft-spoken Synman made only three bogeys through the week to reach 15-under total after Sunday’s round of three-under par 69. That was enough to deny Mexico’s Santiago De la Fuente (67) and Hong Kong’s Matthew Cheung (68), two players also searching for their first win on the Tour.
Chinese Taipei’s Wei-lun Chang (67) was the best-placed among local stars, tied fourth at -12, where he was joined by overnight joint leader, Filipino Lloyd Jefferson Go (72) and American Chase Koepka (71).
Charles Tour (New Zealand)
Dominic Barson produced a stunning finale at his home course to win the UNLIMIT Taranaki Open in dramatic fashion on Sunday, holing eagle putts on the 18th in both regulation and the playoff to deny Cameron Harlock and claim the Summerset Charles Tour title at New Plymouth Golf Club, his second Taranaki Open title.
Having finished in a tie for 3rd at this year’s New Zealand Open, Kerry Mountcastle has continued putting in consistent high-quality performances having claimed the 2026 Brian Green Property Group NZ Super 6s title, a tied second place finish at the Autex Muriwai Open and this week he finished just outside the podium, placing 4th after a final round 68.
Mountcastle sits atop of the Summerset Charles Tour rankings, with a commanding lead after three events. The tour takes a winter break, resuming on 17 September at the Christie Floorings Mount Open
