Ireland’s Tom McKibbin made history at the Link Hong Kong Open, capturing his first Asian Tour victory in record-breaking fashion. The 22-year-old fired a brilliant final-round 63 at Hong Kong Golf Club to finish 27-under-par, winning by seven shots over American Peter Uihlein. McKibbin’s dominant wire-to-wire performance set a new tournament scoring record and matched the largest margin of victory in the event’s history. The win also secures him coveted invitations to The Masters and The Open Championship in 2026 — a fitting reward for a week of flawless golf that announced his arrival on the Asian Tour in spectacular style.

Japan’s Taihei Sato secured his first Japan Golf Tour title at the Fortinet Players Cup, finishing 20-under-par to win by two shots at Narita Hills Country Club. The 32-year-old closed with a four-under 67, holding off Taiki Yoshida (66) while Kota Kaneko and Yuwa Kosaihira tied for third. After the win, Sato said, “It feels special to be the inaugural winner. Your name stays in history.”
