Rebel Sport Extends its winning partnership with the New Zealand Open

The New Zealand Open is proud to announce that Rebel Sport, part of the Briscoe Group portfolio, has committed to extending its sponsorship of New Zealand’s flagship golf event.

Rebel Sport has been a steadfast supporter of golf in New Zealand since 2012, first with the NZ PGA Championships and then the New Zealand Open, and their renewed involvement underscores the brand’s dedication to sport, community, and the promotion of being active across the country.

Since 2014, Rebel Sport’s support of the New Zealand Open has seen the tournament go from strength-to-strength with increased audiences, attendance, and reach, all while providing a platform for New Zealand’s rising and established golfers to showcase their talents on the world’s stage.

Their continued partnership comes at a time of strong growth for golf in New Zealand, with participation increasing across all age groups and a surge in junior and women’s involvement.

As the sport continues to thrive nationwide, the New Zealand Open remains a key driver of that momentum, connecting grassroots enthusiasm with elite competition. This extended agreement ensures that Rebel Sport will continue to be a key partner as the event evolves and further strengthens its position on the international calendar.

John Hart, Chairman of the New Zealand Open, is delighted to have the Rebel Sport brand associated with the tournament and said, “Rebel Sport have been with us for more than a decade, and their ongoing support really makes a difference. Their unwavering commitment to the event shows that we are delivering both on and off the fairways for players, fans and partners alike.”

Rod Duke, Managing Director and Deputy Chairman of the Briscoe Group, representing the Rebel Sport team, said: “We are excited to continue our partnership with the New Zealand Open and to support an event that not only showcases world-class golf, but also celebrates community, sport and New Zealand’s unique environment.”

“2026 will mark the eleventh New Zealand Open that Rebel Sport have supported, and for us, this is more than a sponsorship – it’s about being part of something that inspires players of all ages to get out, play and enjoy the game,” said Duke.

The New Zealand Open continues to strengthen its partnership relationships as the tournament enters its 105th edition. As one of New Zealand’s most iconic sporting events, the tournament continues to deliver a world-class event that celebrates golf and showcases both Queenstown and New Zealand on the international stage.
