The Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia today unveiled its 19-tournament schedule, with the New Zealand Open once again providing one of the season’s biggest stages as players battle for Order of Merit honours.
Following the success of the “New Zealand Swing” in 2026, the Tour has revised the order of its three New Zealand events, with the New Zealand Open presented by Millbrook Resort moving to the finale of the swing. The tournament will be played from February 25-28, 2027, following the Quinovic NZ PGA Championship and the ISPS HANDA Japan-Australasia Championship.
The scheduling places the New Zealand Open in a pivotal position during the closing stages of the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season, with players expected to arrive at Millbrook Resort chasing Order of Merit points, career-defining opportunities and the iconic Brodie Breeze Trophy.
PGA of Australia General Manager of Tournaments and Global Tour Relationships, Nick Dastey, said the revised schedule reflected the continued evolution of the Tour.
“The Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia schedule showcases everything that makes our Tour so special,” Dastey said.
“The move of the BMW Australian PGA Championship to The Lakes marks another significant chapter for one of our flagship events, while there’s an exciting run home in the race to win the Order of Merit, including three tournaments in New Zealand.”
The 2026-27 season begins with the PNG Open in late August before visiting every mainland Australian state and both New Zealand’s North and South Islands across a schedule that blends historic championships with exciting new venues.
Among the season’s highlights are the centenary Queensland PGA Championship, the BMW Australian PGA Championship beginning a new era at The Lakes Golf Club, and new tournament homes for both the WA Open and Players Series Victoria.
The New Zealand Open presented by Millbrook Resort will once again welcome an international field to Queenstown as the culmination of the New Zealand leg and one of the most anticipated events on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia calendar.
Held at the spectacular Millbrook Resort, the championship has become one of the region’s premier sporting events, combining world-class professional golf, its unique Pro-Am format and one of the most picturesque tournament settings in world golf.
The tournament will once again play an important role in determining the season’s Order of Merit standings while continuing to showcase New Zealand to a global audience through extensive international television and digital broadcast coverage.
