With the help of Tiger Wood’s former caddy, Steve Williams, Wells announced his participation in the New Zealand Open live on Seven Sharp last night.
Wells will play alongside fellow New Zealand Open Ambassadors including Brendon McCullum, Ella Gunson and Israel Dagg, in the Pro-Am side of the tournament and is looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m very excited to get down to Queenstown and play amongst the pros. It will be quite different to my weekend round with my mates. I’m actually a little nervous but running into Steve and having taken on board some of his top tips has definitely helped.” says Wells.
“I have heard lots of great things about Millbrook, and based on the photos I have seen there is some stunning scenery so I think it will be quite hard to concentrate on the golf, but will see how we go.”
The New Zealand Open and Millbrook Resort will also play host to Seven Sharp when the popular TVNZ programme will be broadcast live on Wednesday March 1 from the 18th green.
Tournament Chairman John Hart is delighted to welcome Seven Sharp to tournament week and is looking forward to seeing how Jeremy copes with the pressure of playing in a pro-am.
“It’s fantastic to have Jeremy and the Seven Sharp team involved in the New Zealand Open. They produce a great show and it will be a superb opportunity to showcase the Tournament and Queenstown to a wide audience” said Hart.
The 102nd New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport will take place between March 2 – 5, 2023 at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown.
