DAY FOUR UPDATE 5.00PM

The 2011 Champion Brad Kennedy has one hand on the Brodie Breeze Trophy with four holes to play in the New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport.

The Australian is seven-under par today and after four birdies in five holes on the back nine at Millbrook Resort today, he now has a three-shot lead on overnight leader Lucas Herbert and another Australian Nick Flanagan who are on 17-under par.

Herbert’s chances tipped when he made a double bogey on the par-3 13th hole after hitting into the water.

The leading New Zealander is Michael Hendry on 15-under with three holes to play, sharing fourth place with the other overnight leader, 17-year-old Joohyung Kim from Korea.
