Queensland’s Sam Eaves has shot a hole-in-one on the final round of the New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport.

Eaves, the head professional at Warwick Golf Club, south of Toowoomba, made the ace on the par-3 13th hole which earns a new Hyundai Kona Electric, valued at nearly $80,000 for a charity to be voted on by the public on https://www.hyundai.co.nz/driveforgood. The professional will also pick up a cash prize for his endeavours.

Meanwhile, Lucas Herbert, who won the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic recently, holds a two-shot lead at 19-under par with eight holes remaining.

He leads fellow Australian and 2011 champion, Brad Kennedy, by two shots after he bagged four birdies in his first 10 holes today.

Another Australian, Nick Flanagan is third on 16-under, with five birdies and one dropped shot to be one ahead of leading New Zealander Michael Hendry who is on 15-under.

Joint overnight leader Joohyung Kim is now two-over on his round and is back in a share of sixth place on 13-under.
