Japan’s Tatsuya Kodai fired a brilliant eight-under 63 to hold the early clubhouse lead on the final round of the New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport, at Millbrook Resort near Queenstown today.

The 30-year-old, who has enjoyed a victory on the Japan Golf Tour, fired nine birdies and a bogey, including birdies on his final four holes to move to nine-under for the tournament.

Meanwhile, joint overnight leaders Joohyung Kim (Korea) and Lucas Herbert (Australia) are still locked together on 16-under par, after both made a birdie in their opening four holes.

Just one shot behind is 2011 champion Brad Kennedy who has made two birdies in his first five holes, with 2017 winner Michael Hendry in a share of fourth place with American Chan Kim on 13-under after two birdies.
