DAY TWO UPDATE 1.30PM

Australian Ben Eccles, who only got into the field as an alternate this week, has the early clubhouse lead on the second day of the New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport.

Eccles followed his six-under 65 at Millbrook Resort yesterday with five-under late in his second round at The Hills to move to 11-under overall.

The hot play today has come from Asian Tour player Pavit Tangkamolprasert ho shot an eight-under64 at The Hills to move to nine-under par.

Chasing him are two high profile Australians with Lucas Herbert currently three-under today  through 16 holes and Wade Ormsby two-under through 14 holes, both at The Hills, to be tied at eight-under for the tournament.

While there was some showers in the morning, it is now hot and still at both courses.
