Meet Our Trustees

The New Zealand Open Charitable Trust is led by a passionate and experienced group of Trustees who are united by a shared commitment to community impact and the game of golf.

With backgrounds spanning business, philanthropy, sport, and governance, our Trustees bring valuable insight and leadership to the Trust. Their role is essential in ensuring that the Trust operates with transparency, integrity, and a clear focus on its mission: supporting the communities that host the New Zealand Open and promoting the growth of golf across Aotearoa.

Deeply connected to both the tournament and the region it calls home, each Trustee is dedicated to creating a positive legacy—one that carries the spirit of the New Zealand Open well beyond the course.

Brian Cadzow – Chair

Brian was a co-founder of Vista Group, a New Zealand tech company that has grown into the world’s leading supplier of software to the cinema industry. He played a key role in guiding the company to a successful dual listing on the NZX and ASX in 2014, and held senior executive and board positions until 2021. Alongside his wife Julie, Brian remains active in the film sector through the Vista Foundation, which supports emerging New Zealand film talent by promoting education, industry development, and a deeper understanding of film as a business.

A lifelong golfer, Brian grew up in a golfing family and has passed that love of the game on to his own family. He has also contributed extensively outside the business world, including ten years on the Board of Lynfield College, five as Chair. At his home club, Titirangi, both Brian and Julie have served on the Board, with Brian spending five of his ten years there as Club Captain. In 2024, Brian had the unique opportunity to play in the New Zealand Open via the “Craigs – Road to the Open” prize, which sparked a deeper connection to the tournament. That same year, he became a Guardian and played a key role in transforming earlier discussions into the formation of a charitable trust alongside the New Zealand Open.
